About
Emirates Airline Park, also popularly known by its old name Ellis Park Stadium, was constructed in 1928 and named for JD Ellis who initially made the land for the stadium available. Over the years, the stadium has been the site of many milestones in South African sporting history, most memorably that 1995 Rugby World Cup Final – South Africa’s first major international sporting achievement after years of isolation.

The stadium itself is really awesome. We had a great time at the event . However please make sure parking is booked ahead of time as the parking guards can be a nuisance demanding exorbitant amounts of money

  • Awesome experience. Easy to follow directions, friendly staff and well worth a visit if you've never watched a live game

  • Parking is a nightmare. And getting out after a big game takes forever, but the stadium itself was nice enough. Plenty of bathrooms and easy to navigate.

  • Was great. Very clean and organised. All of the staff, even the parking guys outside, are knowledgable about the stadium and appropriate parking, etc. Not a great area to walk around in at night, so if you're going to a late game try park as close as possible to the entrance - you will be glad you did!!

  • One of the older stadiums but still amazing.. The view from anywhere is great be it up top or ground level even behind the posts they are all appreciable.. One down side is the area and parking.. Dingy part of the city with no parking but still worth going for a game
